Full house heating and plumbing upgrade in Greenwich

The job

A homeowner in Greenwich came to us with failing, outdated plumbing and heating throughout the property. Water pressure was low, the hot water could not be relied on and temperatures were uneven from room to room. The tired 1980s bathrooms and a cramped kitchen no longer suited the way the family lived. Patching up the existing pipework and heating would only have bought a little time, so what was needed was a full replacement of the core plumbing and heating infrastructure alongside a proper update to the kitchen and bathrooms.

What we did

We recommended a complete modernisation rather than repairs. We ran a brand new cold mains water supply into the property to secure strong, reliable pressure throughout, then installed a Vaillant ecoFIT Pure 825 system boiler with a 250 litre Telford Tempest indirect unvented cylinder to meet the household's hot water demand. For heating, we fitted energy efficient underfloor heating across the whole ground floor using Heatmiser materials, with traditional radiators on the first floor for responsive warmth upstairs. Individual thermostats zone the property so each area can be set on its own. Pipework was run in a mix of copper and Buteline. Both bathrooms and the kitchen were modernised as part of the same programme of work.

Challenges

The refurbishment ran to a tight three month deadline, and material deliveries did not always land when they were due. Coordinating the plumbing, heating, kitchen and bathroom work inside that window took careful planning. The team reordered the workflow as materials arrived and finished on schedule.

The result

The property now has strong mains pressure at every outlet, dependable hot water and even, efficient warmth across both floors, with multi-zone control so each area can be set independently. The modernised kitchen and bathrooms finish the job off. The work took three months from start to finish and the whole system is fully operational.
